SD ROUNDUP: NMCC boys win first round matchup at Normandy tourney; Sikeston girls fall in first round of St. Dominic tourney
O’FALLON, Mo. — Karris Allen led Sikeston with 13 points in Friday’s opening round loss to Lutheran-St. Charles in the St. Dominic Christmas Tournament.
Two other Lady Bulldogs reached double-figures in scoring, but to no avail, as Sikeston fell 52-39.
Amyari Blissett had 11 points, while Taydrianna Barnett finished with 10. Camryn Self had three points of her own, while Shania and Armani Hodges each had one.
Kelly 50, Holcomb 37
BROSELEY, Mo. — Allison Owens led the Kelly girls’ basketball team to a 50-37 win over Holcomb in the consolation quarterfinals of the Twin Rivers Lady Royals Christmas Classic on Friday.
Owens finished with 18 points, while Alaney Moore and Allison Riley each had 11. Elly Pattengill finished with eight for the Lady Hawks, while Mallory Glastetter had two.
Selena Burress had a team-high 17 for Holcomb. Sarah Williams finished with eight, while Bailey Cupples had six, Allison Moody four, and Alyssa Brown and Hannah Burk each had one.
NMCC 71, Northeast (Kansas City) 26
WELLSTON, Mo. — Christen Phillips scored a game-high 25 points, as the New Madrid County Central boys’ basketball team defeated Northeast (Kansas City) 71-26 on the first day of the Normandy Holiday Invitational, on Thursday.
Donnie Ray Brown added 12 points, while Ansel Underwood and Ke’von Williams each had eight points.
Bryshawn Williams finished with seven points, while Caden Howell had four, Shamar Williamson three, and Kylan Minner and Marcelous Phillips each had two.
