Missourian Roundup: Scott City doubles up Greenville in hoop win

Scott City improved to 5-2 in a tune-up before next week’s Southeast Missourian Christmas boys basketball tournament in defeating host Greenville, 65-33.

The Rams held the Bears scoreless in the first quarter with three of coach Mark Dannenmueller’s squad reaching double figures on the night.

Junior Camden Conner paced all scorers with 17. Spencer Stratman and Joe Panagos posted 13 and 10 points respectively.

Scott City, the No. 8 seed in the upcoming tourney in the Show Me Center, tips against ninth-seeded Kelly (5-3) Dec. 26.
