Neelyville receives top seed for Lady Royals Classic; Dexter named seventh seed

Four-time defending champion Dexter has received the seventh seed for the upcoming Twin Rivers Lady Royals Christmas Classic.

The Bearcats will open the girls basketball tournament against 10th-seeded East Carter in the first round at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Broseley.

Neelyville, the only team to win the tournament other than the Bearcats in the past eight years, received the top seed. Doniphan was seeded second, Naylor third, New Madrid County Central fourth, Kennett fifth, Twin Rivers sixth, Charleston eighth, Holcomb ninth, Malden 11th, Portageville 12th, Kelly 13th, Chaffee 14th, Clearwater 15th and Greenville 16th.
