South Pemiscot beats Kennett 27-25 in BHC seventh grade girls basketball championship

No. 1 seeded South Pemiscot edged No. 2 seeded Kennett 27-25 in the seventh grade championship of the Bootheel Conference girls basketball tournament Thursday at Holcomb High School.

South Pemiscot led 7-2 after one quarter, 11-10 at halftime and 21-19 at the end of the third quarter.

Ayleighonna Farmer scored a team-high nine points for South Pemiscot. Matayah Phillips was one point behind with eight points.

Lauren Barton paced Kennett with 16 points. Barton knocked down the Indians' only trey.
