Portageville’s Johnson earns All-District, All-Conference recognition

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. — Portageville volleyball's Jauslyn Johnson earned a spot on the Class 2, District 1 All-District Second Team, and made the Bootheel All-Conference team last week.

Johnson was the only Bulldog to earn a spot on the All-Conference team.

Campbell swept the major awards for the conference. Gentry Vancil won Coach of the Year, while Anna Beth Vancil won Player of the Year.

Other players that joined Johnson and Vancil on the All-Conference team were Keara Johnson and Mallory Faulkner (Caruthersville), Piper Schoemehl Maddison Saulsbury and Onerica Reed (Malden), Macy Hendrix, Caris Foreister, Hannah Littrell, and Blaney Powers (Campbell), Damaris Farmer (South Pemiscot), Aubrey Jones and Hannah Johnson (Senath-Hornersville), and Selena Wooden (Hayti).

Portageville’s Jaylynn Williams and New Madrid County Central’s Olivia Nelson earned a spot on the Class 2, District 1 All-District First Team.

The rest of the team included Emma Thurman and Kyndal Moore (Twin Rivers), Schoemehl and Saulsbury (Malden), and Jones (Senath-Hornersville).

Jauslyn Johnson earned a spot along with Sissy Johnson, Kylie Cook, and Sarah Garza (Senath-Hornersville), Reed (Malden), and Keara Johnson and Faulkner (Caruthersville).
