MISSOURIAN ROUNDUP: Notre Dame swimmers capture quad meet

The Notre Dame boys swimming team took first place team honors at the Bubble pool Wednesday in its senior night quad event.

Bulldogs senior Nicholas Hux took first place in two invidual events -- 50 freestyle and 100 buttefly -- and swam a leg on the winning 200 freestyle relay team.

The Wildcats improved to 21-7-4 by defeating host St. Vincent in two sets.

Senior Kyla Beel paced Leopold with 12 kills, two aces, four digs and three blocks. Fellow senior Lindsey Duckworth added two kills, three aces, four digs and two blocks. Sophomore Paige Davis had three kills, 11 assists, three aces, four digs and two blocks.

Leopold plays today at Bernie. St. Vincent is idle until the start of the Class 2 District 3 Tournament on Monday.

Cape Central 7, Fredericktown 1

The Tigers improve to 14-5-1 with a win on their own pitch.

Cape Girardeau Central will North County on Wednesday.
