Dorton, Earnheart voted Semoball weekly awards
Dexter's Carter Dorton and Clarkton's Taylor Earnheart were voted the male and female Semoball athlete of the Week, respectively, in online voting that concluded Wednesday night.
Dorton, who had 498 votes, had a second-place finish at the Stoddard County Activities Association Conference cross country meet and broke the school record with a time of 17 minutes, 34 seconds with a 10th-place finish at the Farmington Invitational. Sikeston's Jacob Lovel (455, soccer), finished second, followed by Naylor's Chase Sarabia (377, baseball), Woodland's Timothy Sloan (cross country) and Kennett's Kobe Patterson (cross country).
Earnheart, who had 454 votes, helped the Reindeer to a second-place finish in the Tri-County Conference Tournament last week with 20 kills, three blocks and four aces. Advance's Roz Schrader (353, volleyball) finished second, followed by East Carter's Makenna Moore (256, softball), Sikeston's Alivia Cobb (volleyball) and Notre Dame's Grace Lemons (softball).
