Senath-Hornersville, Dexter athletes recognized by Semoball fans

Parker Rhew was a hit this past week on and off the baseball diamond, as he easily won the Male Athlete of the Week honor.

The Senath-Hornersville baseball player received 618 votes after collecting a five-inning complete game victory in a 11-2 win against Bernie.

In that game, he allowed one earned run, three hits, struck out seven, and walked three.

Rhew also went 2 for 6 with four RBIs and a double in the two games the Lions played this week.

Sikeston soccer player Dylan Thornbrough received 168 votes, followed by Ellington cross country runner Carson McNail (114), Advance baseball player Baylor Long (96 votes), and Bell City baseball player Luke Nichols (52).

Dexter cross country runner Margo Nea outpaced the field in receiving the Female Athlete of the Week honor.

Nea received 211 votes after winning the Woodland Invitational in 20:25 for her fourth victory in six races this season.

Nea barely got past Bloomfield volleyball player Ashton Bell (207 votes) and Campbell volleyball player Anna Beth Vancil (206).

Kelly softball player Alaney Moore (123) and East Carter cross country runner Kennedy Theis (105) were also recognized.
