Bernie teammates make all-state softball team

Bernie juniors Alyson Marcum and Taylor Anthony were named to the spring softball all-state team by the Missouri High School Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Marcum was a first-team pitcher for the Mules, who went 23-4 and won the District 3 championship.

The left-hander went 14-3 with one save. She posted a 0.814 ERA and 0.571 WHIP, and had 192 strikeouts and 21 walks in 103 1/3 innings pitched.

Anthony, who was a second-team catcher, hit .453 with 14 doubles, two home runs and 42 RBIs. She posted a 1.181 on-base plus slugging percentage.
