Jackson golf sets school record at Poplar Bluff Invitational
The Mules had near perfect weather conditions for the Poplar Bluff Invitational on Monday.
Poplar Bluff finished third as a team with a score of 320. Jackson won with a school-record 285 while Dexter took second with a 306.
Jackson’s Case Engelhart won with a 2-under 69 while the Indians placed three players in the top five overall.
Carsen Silliman took second with a 70 while Tanner Walton was fourth with a 72. Jaden Hightower shot a 74 to finish sixth to comprise the team score, while Seth Waters also broke 80 with a 79.
Dexter took second as a team with a 306. The Bearcats were led by Spencer Warren, who shot an even par 71 to finish third. Dylan Sitze, the Bearcat's No. 4 player, shot an 80 to finish second on the team while Cy Worley shot an 82 and Ryan Collier had an 83. Luke Becker also shot an 87 for the Bearcats.
Poplar Bluff freshman Alex Wiseman finished fifth with a 73 as the Mules’ top finisher. Dylan Pierce shot a 79, Jack Pierce shot an 80 and Keaton Carr had an 88 to round out the team scoring. John-Paul Godwin shot a 101 for Poplar Bluff, as well.
The Poplar Bluff “Maroon” team finished with a score of 373 to finish eighth, beating teams from Park Hills, Sikeston, Saxony Lutheran, Doniphan, New Madrid Central and Malden.
Ian Martinez led the Maroon team with an 83. Quinten Bell shot a 94 while Woodrow Innes finished with a 95, Jet Robertson had a 101 and Ben Hickey shot a 117.
Competing individually, Poplar Bluff’s Natalie Whitehead shot a 134 and Kennedy Ray shot a 135.
