STATESMAN ROUNDUP: Balanced Richland boys basketball rolls past Zalma 78-52

Three Richland Rebels scored 15 or more points in their 78-52 rout of Zalma on Tuesday night at Essex.

Jackson Bell scored a game-high 21 points, including 12 in the first quarter where the Rebels took a 21-6 lead. Daniel Petty added 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and Tanner Freeman had 15 points.

Mikey Kuper paced Zalma with 16 points, and Zack Findley had 15.

The Rebels (7-4) led 35-23 at halftime and 62-36 after three quarters.

Notre Dame 62, Bernie 35

No Bernie player scored in double figures and Notre Dame beat the Mules 62-35 Tuesday night at Cape Girardeau.

Andrew Geohagan paced Bernie (11-3) with eight pints, and Blake Harty had seven.

Justice Thoma scored a game-high 13 points for Notre Dame.

Notre Dame (5-9) held quarter leads of 15-7, 27-14 and 37-20.

Advance 58, Chaffee 51

The Advance Hornets held off Chaffee in the fourth quarter in a 58-51 victory Tuesday night at Chaffee.

The Hornets (5-7) led 15-14 after one quarter, 25-23 after two and 40-31 after three. Chaffee held a 21-17 scoring edge in the fourth.

Jack Below paced Advance with 17 points, Hunter Curtis had 15, including four 3-pointers, and Ridley Bailey added 11 points.

Chaffee’s Landon Tenkhoff scored a game-high 18 points, and Douglas Lords and Breven Yarbo had 14 each.
