Caruthersville upends Kennett 43-35 in BHC eighth grade boys basketball championship

KENNETT, Mo. - The No. 2 seeded Caruthersville Tigers upset the No. 1 seeded Kennett Indians 43-35 in the Bootheel Conference eighth grade boys basketball championship Saturday afternoon.
Caruthersville lead 9-5 after one quarter, 19-12 at halftime and 30-24 at the end of the third quarter.
Isaiah Rodgers recorded a game-high 16 points for Caruthersville.
Tanner Pierce also finished in double digits for Kennett with 10 points.
Kennett beat No. 5 seeded Senath-Hornersville 60-33 on Friday night to reach the championship. Caruthersville beat No. 6 seeded Malden 72-37 in its semifinal Friday night.
