Six Kennett tennis players medal at C1D1 individual district
KENNETT, Mo. - All six Kennett varsity starters earned medals at the Class 1, District 1 individual girls tennis district Friday afternoon at Kennett.
Kennett’s Sydni McAtee and Darcy Campbell placed first in doubles. Kennett’s Anelle Harris and Taylor Hufford took second in doubles. McAtee-Campbell beat Harris-Hufford 6-1, 6-3 in the doubles championship.
Kennett’s Emma Phillips placed first and Kennett’s Alexa Blankenship finished third in singles.
Phillips beat Notre Dame’s Claire Bruenderman 4-6, 7-5, 7-5 in the singles championship. Blankenship beat Dexter’s Malia Cook 7-5, 6-3 in the singles third-place match.
The first and second place finishers in singles and doubles will compete individual sectional play Tuesday at St. Louis.
