Kennett baseball team outlasts Harding Academy 14-6

SEARCY, Ark. - The Kennett Indians high school baseball team recorded at least 14 runs for a third time this season as it beat Harding Academy 14-6 Monday night.

Payton Heinley collected the win on the mound for Kennett. He allowed six runs (five earned), nine hits, struck out three and walked one in five innings pitched.

Harding Academy’s Pate Fullerton and Timmy Stewart both hit a home run off of Heinley.

Kennett out hit Harding Academy 11-9.

Jackson Henfling recorded a team-high five RBIs for the Indians. Andrew Spence finished 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. Kobe Gates also had two RBIs for Kennett.

Patrick Maddox, Brenton Tidd, Heinley and Luke Lockhert each collected one RBI for Kennett.

Gates pitched the final two innings for Kennett. He allowed no runs, no hits, struck out three and walked two.

Kennett (12-6) will host a quarterfinal of the SEMO Conference baseball tournament Friday. Kennett’s opponent has yet to be determined.
