MISSOURIAN ROUNDUP: Advance boys basketball rallies to dump rival Oran for first win in three tries this season

Carson Miles scored a game-high 25 points as the Advance boys basketball team scored just under half of its total points in the final quarter to get some revenge with a 68-63 comeback victory over Oran on Tuesday at Advance High School.

Armani Vermillion added 18 points for the Hornets (19-6), who trailed by nine points going into the last quarter. Michael Hood added 15 points as Advance scored 33 points in the fourth quarter to erase its deficit and come out on top.

Jacob Shoemaker scored 18 points and Cole Priggel pitched in 12 points for the Eagles (18-5).

Oran had beaten Advance in both of the teams' encounters earlier this season: the championship game of the Oran Invitational Tournament (66-60) and the fifth-place title of the Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament (64-56).

Alec Bogenpohl netted a game-high 21 points as the Red Devils downed the Bobcats on the road to simultaneously clinch the regular-season championships of the Mississippi Valley and Scott-Mississippi conferences.

Gabe Henson chipped in 16 points for Chaffee (17-6, 6-0 Mississippi Valley Conference, 7-0 Scott-Mississippi Conference), which was up by 14 points heading into the final quarter. Landon Tenkhoff added 15 points for the Red Devils.

It was the first time the Red Devils were crowned champions of the MVC and their first Scott-Mississippi Conference title since 1962.

Jon Bond finished with 13 points to pace Delta (11-10, 4-2, 3-4) in the loss.

Dawson Dohogne and Tyler Landewee's successful free throws down the stretch were the saving grace for the Bulldogs to escape with the slim win over the Knights on the road.

Dohogne led all scorers with 23 points and also grabbed five rebounds for Notre Dame (13-10), which lagged behind by eight points at the break. Landewee tallied 17 points, five rebounds and four assists as the Bulldogs rallied in the final quarter to eke out the victory.

Brendon Hardy scored 18 points and Cole Laurence added 14 points for Farmington (15-9). Tycen Gray had 12 points, but missed a potential game-winning shot at the buzzer for the Knights.

Tyrus Reddin added 11 points for Cape Girardeau Central (19-4, 4-3 SEMO Conference), which trailed by seven points at halftime and added two points to its deficit heading into the home stretch.

Mardareyon Clark scored 17 points to lead Charleston (19-7, 6-1) to victory while Terridean Bogan added 14 points.

The Blue Jays lost to the Tigers 65-56 during the championship game of the Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament earlier this season.

Keshawn Sanders contributed 19 points for Scott County Central (9-16, 4-3 Scott-Mississippi Conference), which clung to a six-point lead at halftime. Landon Glueck added 16 points as the Braves rallied in the third quarter and went on to outscore the Rams by 15 points in the second half to get the win.
