SD ROUNDUP: East Prairie boys basketball team wins third in a row

OAK RIDGE, Mo. – The East Prairie boys basketball team won their third in a row after taking down Oak Ridge 95-72 on the road Friday during a Scott-Mississippi Conference tilt.

The Eagles (5-1, 2-1 Scott-Mississippi Conference) stormed out in front 32-16 after the first quarter and never looked back.

Derez Tipler led the way for the Eagles with 26 points. Luke Marcum drained three 3-pointers and finished with 15 points while Jon Ross Slayden, Brian Merryman and Mason Bryars all scored 14.

Oak Ridge (3-3, 0-2) got 27 points from Zach LeGrand and another 24 from David Layton in the loss.

MALDEN, Mo. – Landon Glueck scored a team-high 13 points behind four 3-pointers for the Braves but it wasn’t enough on the road against the Green Wave.

Scott County Central (2-6) trailed by 10 at the half but fell behind even further, 60-38, at the end of the third quarter.

Titus Fields added 10 points for the Braves, who have lost four of their last five.

Dushawn Butler led Malden (6-1) with 19 points. Broddrick Annesser scored 17 and Chience Booker scored 10.

MARBLE HILL, Mo. — Carlos Ambrocio netted a game-high 16 points and tallied three assists and three steals as the Hawks toppled the Cardinals.

Drew Dirnberger sank 14 points, 12 of which came from behind the arc, for Kelly (3-5), which was behind by five points at halftime. Devin Heuring recorded 11 points, five rebounds and three assists as the Hawks turned the game around in the second quarter and outscored the hosts two-to-one. Peyton Eftink added 10 points and nine rebounds for the victors.

Connor Goodwin pitched in 13 points to sustain Woodland (2-5) while Tyler Massa notched 10 points.

Both teams are off the court until December 26 in the opening round of the 73rd Annual Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament at the Show-Me Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
