COMMUNITY BRIEFS (9/22/17): Hole in one at Kimbeland Country Club

Jackson resident Susan Miller hit a hole in one on Wednesday at Kimbeland Country Club.

Using a 5 wood from the No. 6 tee box, Miller aced the hole from 134 yards out.

Steve Miller was a witness.

It was Miller's first-ever hole in one.

Volleyball tournament

The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will host the 30th Annual Set & Spike Volleyball Tournament on Oct. 14 at the Cape Girardeau Sportsplex.

The co-ed tournament is for participants 16 years or older and will feature six-player teams (three male and three female).

Registration is $60 per team, and the deadline to register is Oct. 6. Rosters and payments can be dropped off at the A.C. Brase Arena, Cape Girardeau Sportsplex or online at cityofcapegirardeau.org/volleyball.
