Burger King Capahas drop 12-5 decision versus host Waterloo

The Burger King Capahas baseball team gave up 14 hits, as Waterloo, Illinois, claimed a 12-5 win on Friday in Waterloo, Illinois.

Cody Heisserer got the pitching start and was tagged with the loss after five innings of work. He allowed 10 runs (six earned) on nine hits, striking out five batters and walking one. Zach Moore pitched the final three innings for the Capahas (3-3), finishing with one strikeout and two walks. Moore gave up four runs (three earned) on five hits.

Jamie Thargard pitched five scoreless innings and was credited with the win on the mound. He scattered six hits, struck out two batters and walked two.

Laban Petzoldt finished 2-for-4 to lead the Caps' offense. He provided a three-run double in the top of the ninth inning, finishing the game with four runs driven in.

Adam Connor and Aaron Wendell each had a pair of hits for the Caps.
