MISSOURIAN ROUNDUP: Notre Dame boys volleyball falls in district semis

The Notre Dame boys volleyball team dropped a 2-1 decision in a thriller against Living Word Christian in a Class 3 District 4 semifinal Thursday in O'Fallon, Missouri.

The Bulldogs won the first set 25-23 before falling in back-to-back sets 25-22, 25-20.

Evan Landewee led the way for Notre Dame, finishing with 10 kills and 20 assists. Grant Grove added 10 kills and three blocks for the Bulldogs, while Noah Pettit contributed 16 digs and three aces.

Notre Dame ends its season with a 14-12-2 record.


St. Vincent 9, Valley Park 0

Kalli Seabaugh had a hat trick, as the top-seeded Indians rolled past the fourth-seeded Hawks in a semifinal of the Class 1 District 1 tournament at Notre Dame Regional High School.

Corin Carroll added two goals and two assists for St. Vincent (16-5-1), while Abby Buchheit had a goal and three helpers. Faith Kapp finished with a goal and two assists for the Indians, and Cierra Boland and Megan Lipe each contributed a goal.

For the third year in a row, St. Vincent will square off against third-seeded Saxony Lutheran in the district title game at 6 p.m. Friday. The two teams met earlier this season on April 24, as the Indians won 4-0.
