MISSOURIAN ROUNDUP: Chaffee baseball beats Cooter 13-5

Austin Copeland blasted a home run, a double and drove in five runs to lead the Chaffee baseball team to a 13-5 home win over Cooter on Wednesday at Frisco Park in Chaffee, Mo.

Landon Tenkhoff was the winning pitcher for the Red Devils (11-4). He threw 5 2/3 innings and gave up four earned runs on six hits. He struck out six and walked five batters. He also hit a home run, a double and batted in three runs.

Andrew Brown was the third Red Devil to have a home run and added three RBIs.

Dawson Treat threw 2 2/3 innings to take the loss for the Wildcats (9-9). He allowed nine runs (six earned) on six hits with two walked batters and no strikeouts.

Dylan Smelley recorded a double and two RBIs to pace the Wildcats at the plate.

Isaac McMillian blasted a solo home run as a week's hiatus from the field didn't deter the Panthers in the win at home over the Rams.

Dawson Lindgren pitched a complete game to take the win for Meadow Heights (5-4). He allowed one earned run and recorded seven strikeouts and one walk. He was also the only player on either team to get on base more than once.

Dakota Talley went the distance on the mound to take the loss for Scott City (12-5). He gave up two earned runs and had two strikeouts and two walks.

Josh Varnon and Jake Wyatt batted in two runs apiece, as the host Crusaders blanked the Giants in five innings.

Jakoata Walther was the winning pitcher and also added two RBIs for Saxony Lutheran (10-3). He recorded seven strikeouts and walked zero batters.

Drew Barnfield went two innings on the mound to take the loss for St. Paul Lutheran (4-13). He gave up six earned runs on five hits, struck out two and walked four.

Mitchell Proctor blasted a home run and drove in the two runs for the Hawks in the road loss to the Bulldogs.

Jonathon Tyler went the distance on the mound to take the loss for Kelly (7-7). He allowed two earned runs and tallied 10 strikeouts and four walks.

Chris Dye pitched 6 2/3 innings to get the win for Gideon/Risco (3-5). He gave up two earned runs on seven hits and notched seven strikeouts and two walks.

E.J. Meyers had a solo home run to pace the Bulldogs at the plate.

Dallan Stotts hit a three-run home run and earned the pitching to lead the Bulldogs in the shutout of the Braves on the road.

Stotts finished 2-for-3 at the plate and added a double. Garret Robinson was 3-for-4, while Mayson Casey, Ethan Barrett and Logan Borders each added two hits.

Stotts lasted 4 2/3 innings, striking out 12 and giving up one hit and no walks. Borders finished the rest of the game, giving up one hit and striking out four for Zalma (3-6).

Jordan Crone hurled a complete game to take the loss for Scott County Central (3-5). He allowed seven earned runs and recorded 12 strikeouts and one walk.

Freshman Grant Coomer pitched a complete game to grab the win for Delta (3-10). He recorded 11 strikeouts and one walk. He also doubled and added three RBIs for the Bobcats, who got a double and two more RBIs apiece from Triston Perry and Josh Statler.

Billy Perry was left on the mound to take the loss for Marquand-Zion (0-5).

Four was the lucky number for Clay Sauceda, who touched base all four of his four times at the plate and drove in four runs, as the Eagles soared in the five-inning road rout of the Blue Jays.

Sauceda was also the winning pitcher for Oran (9-2). He threw 2 2/3 innings and gave up one earned run on two hits. He had five strikeouts and two walks.

Drew Reischman tripled twice and batted in three runs for the Eagles.

Blake Simmons went the distance on the mound to take the loss for Charleston (4-12). He allowed 11 earned runs, struck out eight and walked three.

Brandon O'Connor hit a double and drove in one of the Blue Jays' two runs.

Megan Simms hit a double to record the only extra-base hit of the game, as the fifth-seeded Hornets started strong and upset the second-seeded Cardinals to claim third place in the SCAA Conference Tournament.

Jenna Oberle went the distance in the circle to earn the win for Advance (8-12). She allowed one earned run, walked one batter and had no strikeouts.

Sarah McCormick tossed three innings to take the loss for Woodland (10-10). She gave up four earned runs on four hits and recorded five walks and one strikeout.

Freshman Kaylee Payne blasted two triples, recorded five RBIs and pitched a complete game to lead the undefeated Eagles to their 15th straight win in the five-inning romp of the visiting Bearcats.

Payne gave up just one earned run on two hits and recorded seven strikeouts and five walks while in the circle for Oran (15-0). Leah Cauble added a triple and a double to help propel the Eagles to victory.

Kelsey Carrier tossed 4 1/3 innings to take the loss for Dexter (6-10). She allowed 11 runs (10 earned) on 14 hits with two strikeouts and two walks.

Carrie Waddle belted a double and got on base two of her three times at the plate to pace the Bobcats in the loss at home to the Blue Jays.

Coley Blattel tossed a complete game to take the loss for Delta (5-5). She gave up eight earned runs, struck out six and walked two.

Madyson McDermott also pitched a complete game to obtain the win for Charleston (4-9). She allowed one unearned run and tallied eight strikeouts and one walk. She also tripled and drove in two runs for the Blue Jays, who also got two more runs batted in from Abigail Nally.

Jordan Layton hit a double and got on base two of her three times at the plate, but it wasn't enough, as the Bluejays fell to the Eagles in five innings in Game 1 of their doubleheader on the road in Hillsboro, Missouri.

Layton also tossed 1 2/3 innings to take the loss for Oak Ridge. She allowed 15 earned runs on 16 hits with two strikeouts and one walk.

Meaghan Faust was the winning pitcher and also doubled and drove in three runs for Grandview. She gave up five earned runs and recorded three strikeouts and 10 walks.

The Bulldogs prevailed in four singles and two doubles matches to remain undefeated and knock off another unbeaten team in two days in the win over the visiting Knights.

Notre Dame improved to 7-0, while Farmington fell to 7-1.
