Southeast Missouri State football begins spring practice Tuesday at Houck
The Southeast Missouri State football team returns to the field Tuesday for the beginning of spring practice.
The Redhawks will hold the first of 15 spring practices at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Houck Stadium. As of now, SEMO has 76 players on the roster. That group includes five returning starters on offense and four on defense. There are also 12 transfers who will participate in the drills.
With second-team All-Ohio Valley Conference running back Will Young gone, Eddie Morris, Cameron Sanders, Chase Abbington and newcomer Marquis Terry will be jockeying for that starting spot in the backfield.
Young rushed for 838 yards last season, averaging 5.1 yards per carry, and had six rushing touchdowns. He also averaged 76.2 rushing yards per game, which ranked third in the OVC.
SEMO's spring slate concludes with the spring game on April 13.
