Southeast Missouri State track and field standout Chris Martin earns honors as OVC Co-Field Athlete of the Week

Southeast Missouri State track and field athlete Chris Martin earned the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.

A senior, Martin made his season debut in the triple jump this past weekend at Vanderbilt's Music City Challenge and placed second with a jump of 15.68 meters. That's the top mark in the conference this season.

Southeast will host the Redhawks Invitational at 3:30 p.m. Friday. Then Saturday, several members will compete at Notre Dame in the Alex Wilson Invitational, which begins at 11 a.m.
