MISSOURIAN ROUNDUP: Bell City boys basketball rallies past Puxico in conference action

Cole Nichols recorded a game-high 26 points to lead the Bell City boys basketball team in a 64-57 conference victory over Puxico on Tuesday in Bell City, Missouri.

Bobby Wright and Logan Yates tossed in 16 points apiece for Bell City (8-6, 2-2 SCAA Conference), which trailed by six points at halftime and four points at the end of the third quarter before the fourth-quarter blitzkrieg. The Cubs also received a good bulk of their points from the charity stripe, where they had 42 attempts and made 28 of them.

Levi Woods scored 24 points to pace Puxico (4-8, 0-2).

Joe Panagos tallied 14 points and three steals for the Rams, who led by 15 points at halftime and held the hosts to single digits in both frames in the second half. Dylan Keller notched 12 rebounds and seven assists to go along with his four points for the Rams.

Three Bulldogs hit double digits but it was not enough as the Bulldogs were unable to snap the Rebels' 10-game winning streak in the loss on the road in Park Hills, Mo.

Sam Brennan finished with 14 points, six rebounds and four steals to pace Notre Dame (5-5). The Bulldogs were ahead 32-26 at halftime but were held to just one point in the third quarter where the Rebels did their damage. Allie Ziegler posted a double-double with 12 rebounds and 10 points for Notre Dame and Megan Heisserer also tossed in 10 points. Allison Bray grabbed six rebounds for the Bulldogs.

Caitlyn Holmes nailed a game-high 19 points and Bree Seaton pitched in 15 points to lead Central (12-1) to its 11th consecutive victory.
