Kennett sweeps South Pemiscot in girls hoops

KENNETT, Mo. - The Kennett Indians middle school girls basketball teams experienced little difficulty improving to 2-0 Tuesday night.

Fresh off double digit wins against Campbell Monday night the Kennett seventh and eighth grade girls teams both collected home wins against South Pemiscot Tuesday.
The Kennett seventh grade girls basketball team beat South Pemiscot 31-9. The Kennett eighth grade followed with a 51-11 victory against South Pemiscot.
Kennett dominated defensively in both games.
The Kennett seventh grade did not surrender a score until Olivia House hit a free throw with 1:11 left in the first half. The Indians had already opened up a 19-0 lead by the time the free throw fell.
Six Kennett seventh graders recorded at least one field goal.
Kyra Jaco was the only Kennett seventh grader to finish in double digits. She recorded eight of her 10 points in the first half.

Honesty Fonda paced the South Pemiscot seventh grade with six points.
The Kennett eighth grade limited South Pemiscot to just one field goal in each half. Kennett led 20-2 after the first quarter and increased its lead to 37-9 by halftime.
10 Kennett eighth graders recorded at least one field goal. Caroline Patton paced the Kennett eighth grade with 17 points. Kaniya Madlock was the next highest scorer with eight points.
Kennett returns to action Wednesday when it plays at Sikeston at 5 p.m.
