Doniphan CC Runners Earn Top Spots at Local Meet

The Doniphan girls cross country team won another first place team award at the Doniphan Cross Country Meet held at the Sycamore Hills Country Club Golf Course on October 20.

This is their fourth first place team award for the season and they have also won two second place team finishes. The girls team took the top five places with Kalli Hill in first; Shelbee Burgess, second; Kaitlyn Burgess, third; Brittney Ritter, fourth; and Melinda Holmes, fifth.

Jimmy Kramer, a junior at Doniphan, earned a first place medal with a time of 18:38. Also placing for Doniphan was Cody Johnson with an eleventh place finish. Koshkonong won the boys team award. Lesterville, Summersville, Eminence, Koshkonong, and Doniphan were the competing schools.

The high school runners will compete Saturday, October 30, in the district meet at Willow Springs.

In the junior high boys race

John Michael Ezell earned a fifth place medal. Junior high girls that won medals were: Chailland Aaron, second; Michaela Brady, third; Melanie White, fourth; and Janelle Mischka, sixth.
