Portageville scores late to beat Malden
MALDEN, Mo. -- The Portageville Bulldogs made it three straight wins as they scored late in the fourth quarter to go up on and win over Malden, 14-12, on Friday night.
On fourth-and-8 with just over two minutes to play in the game, Tevin Walker ran in a 10-yard score on a reverse.
In the prior possession before the Portageville touchdown, Malden fumbled at their own 26 to give the Bulldogs great field position.
After the Bulldogs went up 14-12, Malden once again coughed up the ball at their own 30.
This time though, the Green Wave were able to contain Portageville as they held the Bulldogs on a fourth-and-9.
With 1:19 left in the game, Malden started a drive down the field led by backup quarter back Raymond Wilson.
After a holding called followed up by a false start, Wilson connected with Quentin Jackson on a 35-yard strike. After incomplete pass, Wilson heaved one down the middle of the field that was picked off easily by Portageville's Lee Wallace.
