The Wildcats fell victim to another close loss Friday night in the third-place game at the Campbell Invitational.
Leighton Hensley's jumper gave Bloomfield a two-point lead with just over 4 seconds left in the contest. However, Central's Kam Ashabranner took the inbound pass and fired up a shot just inside half court that banked off the backboard and in to give the Mustangs the thrilling win.
"We wanted to leave enough time for a stickback, the ball went through with 4 seconds left," Bloomfield coach Dustin Hicks said. "We let him have a straight line and never got him to change directions."
The Wildcats are now 1-2 losing their two games by a total of three points.
"We had two tough losses two nights in a row," Hicks said. "We are really testing our character right now."
