Blalocks finish second at Notre Dame races

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Poplar Bluff cross country team members competed Saturday at a meet in Cape Girardeau.

The Mules had two runners finish second on the day.

"The meet was quite the success," Poplar Bluff coach Beth Lewis said.

Travis Blalock finished second overall with a time of 16:00 and Jason Keena finished 57th with a time of 20:01.

"Travis started the meet off for us on the right foot," Lewis said. "He ran a smart race and finished real well."

Hannah Blalock got second with a time of 18:55, a personal best, and Ashley Snapko finished in 57th place.

"Hannah's race was perhaps the most impressive race that I have seen in a long while," Lewis said.

The junior high participants also had strong performances as Kortez Ellis placed second, Bailey Davidson got third and Ryan Brittingham got 10th. Allison Huskey finished the girls race in second place.
