Naylor and Doniphan were locked in a defensive struggle throughout the first half of Monday’s Ozark Foothills Conference Tournament Semifinal. Emily Ederer proved to be a difference-maker for the Donettes in the second half, though. Ederer began to get looks in the post almost at will in the final 16 minutes, scoring 14 of her game-high 18 points in the second half as Doniphan pulled away for a 40-27 win over Naylor. With the score locked at 12 apiece, Doniphan (17-6) took the game over with a 15-2 run late in the first half, a run that carried over well into the third quarter. “We were nervous coming out,” Doniphan coach Adam Epps said. “I don’t know all of Doniphan history, but I know it’s been a long time since we’ve played for the OFC championship. Thing about it is if they just settle down, they’re better. If they would just do what we normally do, they’re OK.”
