  • Zane Foust, QB for Poplar Bluff. Threw 522 yards against Jackson. Heck of a player!

  • Semoball STATS final numbers for Poplar Bluff QB Zane Foust: 32-of-49 passing (65%) 522 yards 4 TDs against Jackson who is state ranked. Last time someone threw for these kind of numbers was way back...

  • Dexter had a QB that threw for over 500 in 1986, Wheeler I believe. That's before throwing was used as much. Not the Boot, but Keller from Hillsboro has phenomenal numbers at HB. Nobody even near him in SEMO.

What's amazing about Foust's stats is that just last year Bluff's single season passing record was broken...he's on the track to repeating that with even better numbers. Of course he's got help from one of the best receiving corps PB has had in years, they always seem to be there to catch and get the job done in traffic just as well as they do wide open and that's because he's got such an accurate ball. Only negative about it is it happened in defeat.

I don't know stats for these kids but I know talent when I see it! Hayti has at least 2 maybe 3 kids in the running back and receiver corp that has D-1 speed and ability! I'm going to go out on a limb and also admit that they can keep mistakes and penalties to a minimum they'll defeat Valle this year. Hayti does not have a problem w talent. They struggle w the ability to put 4 quarters together in one game at their best. I'm very impressed with what I saw. Don't underestimate them.

  • Back in the 70s, Dexter has a string of QBs who threw the ball a lot.

  • Meant to include the 80s.

  • Jerrid Moore- WR from Bluff- I can't think of a better receiver in the area. He is a game breaker.

  • Callis the QB from Jackson may not be the best all around athlete in SEMO regarding the Carr, but he will be a College QB for sure I'm 2 years. Very good QB, with the right size, strength, and decision making skills.

  • That was Earl Wheeler back in 1986, heckuva player. I think he is still the only 2-time Carr Trophy Winner. I think. He went to Oklahoma State.

  • Runnin' Clock, Couch kid is his son so you would figure he would say he is the best.

  • Interesting concept chsfan since his Twitter page shows him visiting Indiana last week

  • @ Chsfan

    I bet you a steak dinner he's D1

    Not kidding at all.

Stay in touch with me on here and we'll talk next year.

He is a better QB than Dante.

Dante was a better athlete though.

By the way I think our game will be a little closer than everyone predicting on here, the underdog always brings it and the favored team always plays too safe (been this way for a long time)

    -- Posted by JHSIndian23 on Tue, Sep 27, 2016, at 5:06 PM
  • Callis could be a D1 punter but he'll have to be much better under pressure and not be scared of getting hit. He is definitely not a running qb.

  • You are correct
