  • Caruthersville and Charleston should be ranked

  • Bloomfield should they are 26-3

  • I agree Bloomfield had a chance to be ranked with a record of 25-3 at the time of the rankings. If the rankings were after their district championship win they probably would be. Charleston and Caruthersville both have 9 losses, I think. That's tough to compete with teams who have 1-3 losses, even if they play a tougher schedule. But as for rankings the last one that comes out will be the only one that matters.

Interesting how the polls say that Saxony should have won Class 3 District 2, but most people had Charleston pegged to win that one.

  • Most polls are usually one year out of date.

Bulldog, anyone who actually watched that game would have to agree that the polls were onto something with their prediction. Everyone who crowned Charleston before the tip were going off history or just simply hadn't seen this Saxony team. No one could have predicted that Saxony would lose two starters to foul trouble w so much time left to play. I applaud Charleston for being who they are because many teams would have surrendered 2nd quarter. The fight they have is part of their reputation. I expect Charleston to be in Columbia in a few weeks! Go Bluejays!

  • Thanks jstt fouling is part of the game, sharp fouled out too. After looking at the box score corie Williams must've scored his 11 in first quarter, Rogers was on fire first half with 15 but only managed 4 the rest of the game. One stat the surprised me was Saxony didn't score a point in the 4th. Charleston didn't play a typical Charleston game but credit the active zone but we just have multiple guys who can step up don sharp, dem Sharp, Clark, Tucker, Ewing and moore can all be the guy on any giving night. Which is scary, can't key on one the others will get u... I believe the winner of the sectional game in Dexter Wednesday will make it to como. Thanks jstt Saxony will be tough again next yr, but so will we! I can't wait.

  • The boxscore was a misprint.....should've read 10pts in the fourth quarter for Saxony.

JSTT, I know the polls were probably onto something, especially according to their record. However, it was just interesting to me that although they were unranked, the majority of Southeast Missouri picked Charleston. Just funny to me how the simple name of Charleston has the effect that it does.

  • Well the fact that Jayz manhandled Cape after Cape manhandled Sikestown is pretty indicative of how much Ctown has improved compared to before Christmas. I had no doubt theyd beat Saxony but i would have never guessed Jayz would be down 20 midway thru 2nd qtr. Just shows u what I know (mainly what I dont know haha).

Charleston will get their chance people!!! caruthersville and phc are the only teams in the way of going back to Columbia

    -- Posted by BulldogFan1 on Mon, Feb 29, 2016, at 1:37 PM
  • I would bet PHC struggles against Whitfield. Whitfield has a legit stud being recruited D-1 and several other really good players. PHC will have their hands full guarding Whitfield's best player.

@kdub i know nothing about either team. i was just basing that off of rankings. i do know c-town vs. c-ville though

  • Ought to be a war! Just saying I know PHC has a great record but Whitfield is super tough. They got some straight up hoopers. PHC would have to really play big to get that one. Not saying it can't happen but it will be super tough.
