I am surprised at the ND CTown game. Also the NMCC game. I heard the Sikeston game was a more lopsided game that it really was. A friend of mine text me and said that it could've been a 40 point win. Is that true rocketsbro?

Redsandguy...it could have been 40-50. The Sikeston starters came out half way through the 3rd and didn't play again. It was 35 or so and the end of the 3rd... If the starters played the whole game (no reason to do so) it would have been REALLY UGLY. However, no reason to rub someone's face in it. Coach Holifield is too classy for that....

Rocket689,
From your assessment after two games, and I know it's only two games, is there something special about this team?
Also, from what I heard, they Dyes kid did not have a great game but did show leadership. He was quick to point that out to me. That's good to hear and exactly what you said in another post.

Redsand....I have seen a TON (and I mean a TON) of Holifield-coached teams. This team (similar to the '11 team) has a cohesive unit and is EXTREMELY coachable. I personally believe that this team shoots it better than the '11 team, may have more team speed and more overall athleticism. However, they don't (as of today) guard and rebound as well. In my opinion....that's just a matter of time that this group approaches the level as the '11 team. I'm not saying they will be better, but they can be close. Darryl Howard and Janiel Hatchett were some of the best on ball defenders I've ever witnessed at this level. Also, Corey Porter was the best outlet passer I've ever seen.
With all of that said...in my opinion, this team has a chance to be special. There is still a lot of season left and I'm sure there will be some adversity to overcome. Being a fairly young team, it will be interesting to see how this group handles that. With the coaching staff pulling the strings....I like their chances.
No predictions from me other than this group "has a chance." Now....to put that out of their mind and get to work. Still a TON of basketball left.

And yes, Dyes did show leadership tonight. When he was out of the game, he was leading the cheers....standing up, waving the towel, and just being a great teammate by being genuinely excited as his teammates were contributing. It was fantastic to see.
And...he led on the floor by his actions. His ball pressure was relentless as he trapped all over the floor. His effort was impeccable...as was the whole team. I don't want to just single him out, but I'm just addressing your question.
The whole team played fantastic and they are starting to do the "little things" to get wins (stopping the ball coming up the side of the floor by trapping, blocking out, keeping the ball out of the middle of the floor and stopping the dribble penetration).

It'll be interesting Monday and Tuesday night of the Semo conference tourney. I'm going to try and get in there and watch a few games. I just don't see ND being as bad as everyone predicts they will be. Including myself after they lost nearly everyone. They are still ND. Just like CTown losing a few. CTown will always be there at the end of the season. Coach Farmer is a GREAT coach! Can't wait till next week. I should be at the games Monday and hopefully Tuesday. The rest of the week will be in doubt though. Good luck to your team Rockets

Rocket689..you must be some kind of an intense Bulldog fan. I've never seen anyone analyze and notice the things you do at a game. I bet you could even tell us how many times a Bulldog got a drink or readjusted their shorts. Holifield should hire you as a special consultant to the team. Wow!! You are really full of lengthy and detailed info.... You must be locked into the action from start to finish. All I can keep saying is...WOW !!!!!

indian73....well, I happen to be a passionate Bulldog fan. There isn't much denying that. Ha!
Actually, I can't take credit for my knowledge as I have gleaned it from Coach Holifield and the Dogs brain trust. I get a chance, every now and then, to stop by practice. By doing so, I get to see and understand on what the team is working. I am trying to become a more knowledgeable fan and apply it to my "spring job" to help improve my performance there.
As a result, I have become good friends with the coaching staff which gives me some level of insight. I enjoy the camaraderie with them. One of the coaches happens to be a classmate which provides another link.
Also, I have become good friends with some former players and they have shared things with me which has elevated my knowledge.
Bro...you know what you can do, Mr Jablonski....
Sorry if I have given you too much... Ha!
