When will we get the schedule for the boys June 6-7 session?

  • Gotta get through this weekend first, I think. Girls Friday and Saturday.

-- Posted by Dexter Native on Thu, May 29, 2014, at 4:37 PM
  • this weekend's shootout has been canceled due to a lack of teams, mainly because of so many schools going into june due to the harsh winter weather.

  • Yikers.

  • I guess I better come up with something else to run in the weekend edition.

-- Posted by Dustin Ward on Thu, May 29, 2014, at 11:16 PM
  • I don't think it has been cancelled, just playing on Saturday only.

Check the website and maybe it will be updated! I know updated websites are important to you!

-- Posted by Haterade on Tue, Jun 3, 2014, at 9:31 AM
  • Obviously, you have NOT checked the website, since it has not been updated.

How do you KNOW that updated websites are important to me?

What is important to me is that we have information about local events (in case I would like to see the local talent).

I said "Maybe it will be updated". Not that it has been updated... I'm sure as soon as they have a schedule ready you can get it online!

To answer your second question, I know because I remember time and time again you were extremely worried about SEMO Swarm's site updates and even a couple times you've asked about the SEMO Bulls's updates!!!!

I'm sure these things will get updated as soon as Coach Allen gets it finalized!

  • I have had the same amount of success with my questions about SEMO Swarm, SEMO Bulls, and Rib City Shootout.

  • Brought this back up so I don't have to keep finding it for schedule

  • If you like bball this is definitely the place to be this weekend. So many teams from all over the place. Teams that you think just by looking at them that they might not be good and turns out they are good. Really don't mind giving my weekend up to see all these games.

NMCC won the Rib City Shootout. They beat Madison Prep, then Dyer County, and Sikeston for the championship. Congrats! Go Eagles!!

-- Posted by BuckMajor on Sat, Jun 7, 2014, at 9:15 PM
  • Sikeston JV won the JV. I talked to the New Madrid boys yesterday and told them I thought they were going to be really good this year but they just can't beat us and they did so I don't know what to do with them. Lol!

-- Posted by TFA on Sat, Jun 7, 2014, at 9:22 PM
  • One has to admire the work they are doing with the NMCC basketball program.

Not sure exact score. I think it was in the 7-10 range. Maybe Dustin knows.

He played very well for sure! I like the line-up options we will have this year. Lot of guys with passion, heart, and hustle.

-- Posted by BuckMajor on Sun, Jun 8, 2014, at 9:55 PM
  • I've been on vacation the entire week at the state baseball tournament. First full week of vacation I've had in four years. No idea of any scores.

    Okay thanks Dustin!

-- Posted by BuckMajor on Mon, Jun 9, 2014, at 8:33 AM
  • I didn't get to watch that game because I was watching JV but I thought we lost by 8 not for sure. Buck ya have lots of people it looked like that could shoot. The only game I watched Willie didn't have to do a lot because of all his options. Now what I seen from Charleston the little bit I seen Bogan was working his butt off. They have a few options but its still early u never know when bball actually starts what will be like.

  • Im just glad we're talkn hoops a full five month before HS practice starts! I love this country!!

    -- Posted by cirithungol17 on Mon, Jun 9, 2014, at 11:20 AM
  • You should of came this weekend, there were some very good teams there.

Exactly, me too! Hey football camps starting soon too! God Bless America haha!

-- Posted by BuckMajor on Mon, Jun 9, 2014, at 1:42 PM
  • I would say that it's going to be a great basketball season. The fact that New Madrid returns there entire team from last year and Sikeston lost most of there team, losing by only single numbers, things could change in six months.

  • Congratulations to Jackson for going 7-0 to win this round of Rib City!!

  • Boo! : )

-- Posted by TFA on Fri, Jun 20, 2014, at 10:45 PM
  • TFA! Always good to here from you.

Word on the street is Sikeston has a stud moving to town. What do you know about that?

-- Posted by IndianPride on Sat, Jun 21, 2014, at 7:59 AM
  • That's what I'm hearing also plus we also got one of Kennetts players. Heard this guy coming is really good.

-- Posted by TFA on Sat, Jun 21, 2014, at 8:05 AM
  • David Heeb coaching Sikeston now?

-- Posted by Champ Kind on Sat, Jun 21, 2014, at 12:41 PM
  • TFA

Who is the Kennett player? Is he already here, and what is the story on the player coming?

Thanks, I am not saying only TFA but anyone who has good information.

    Champ Kid

David Heeb is not coaching Sikeston and probably will never coach at Sikeston.

I do understand you are being a little bit of a wise-*** but that's OK we can take it.

    -- Posted by SHS59 on Mon, Jun 23, 2014, at 8:28 AM
  • I will have to ask my son I'm horrible at names but I'm pretty sure the guy from Kennett is already here. As far as the other guy I will believe it when school starts and he's here.

-- Posted by TFA on Mon, Jun 23, 2014, at 10:15 AM
  • Oh and I'm saying that because my son like to tell me stories. Lol!

-- Posted by TFA on Mon, Jun 23, 2014, at 10:16 AM
  • Jackson won the championship bracket this week at the Rib City Shootout and looked good doing it. Union City and Covington, Tenn. also had talent and played pretty well. NMCC gave a good showing without Willie. A little point guard and a strong post player for them played well. Dexter played hard and gained a little confidence by winning the consolation bracket. Good tourney to work and was ran well. Notre Dame played one night and you can tell they have multiple returning starters and will be a force this winter. Good luck to all.

  • Thats exactly my spin on it Mrs T!! No need to comment yet on this outta town player til he's officially enrolled and shows up for the first practice in November. Mum's the word!!

    -- Posted by cirithungol17 on Mon, Jun 23, 2014, at 12:42 PM
  • Meant to say outta state player. I know nil about the kennett player.

    -- Posted by cirithungol17 on Mon, Jun 23, 2014, at 12:44 PM
  • Seen a lot of talent can't wait to see what Poplar Bluff and Kennet can do I heard Ellingtons Marshon Morrissey is moving to the bluff any word on that? And the new guy moved to Sikeston heard he's a stud.

-- Posted by JustAnotherDay on Mon, Jun 23, 2014, at 9:09 PM
  • Jackson finished the week at Lindenwood University tournament this weekend. They went 4-1 losing in the Platinum finals to Blue Valley North from Overland Park Kansas.

They finished the period of Wednesday through Sunday at 13-1.

Heading to Nixa Shootout this Thursday for several more games.

    Good luck Indians!

  • TFA,

Did you get the Kennett player's name? Nobody else seems to know about him.

    -- Posted by SHS59 on Wed, Jun 25, 2014, at 5:46 AM
  • All I know is that he's a junior and my son thinks his name started with a M. Sorry he's only met him once. I will ask someone else.
