I'm stuck between a few guys who come to mind. You can make cases for Karson King of Jackson, Michael Hull of Charleston, Vashwan Ruffin of Sikeston, Kevonte Mitchell of Kennett, or New Madrid's Willie Jimmerson. At this point you have to give it to Jimmerson because without him New Madrid is a 2-4 win basketball team.

  • For all of Semo? That's a hard one, but I think these players (in no particular order) deserve consideration:

    1. JT Jones (Sikeston)

    2. Michael Hull (Charleston)

    3. Kevonte Mitchell (Kennett)

    4. Jamie Massey (Holcomb)

    5. Kyle Stroder (Leopold)

  • Forgot about Willie Jimerson of NMCC. Add him to my list too.

  • Can't argue with your list Preach. Although I'm sure many will.

  • PHC is not in the semoball coverage area.

  • I think JT Jones and Jamie Massey should be at top of this list. I feel there are better players in area than Massey, but when you look at what he does for his team and they are WINNING at a high level he is very deserving. Fact is his team beat Kennett(Mitchell) so I'd give him the nod there. I believe players leading their teams to championship caliber seasons should be at top of list.

  • rocketsbro if PHC is not in the semoball coverage area then why are they ranked 10th in the semo top 25 rankings?

-- Posted by hardwork on Sun, Jan 27, 2013, at 9:15 PM
  • They are not part of the semoball.com coverage area. You can click on high schools at the top under the Semoball.com banner and see that they are not included. I'm not sure where you got the top 25 poll, but it wasn't this site.

  • The rankings are on semo sports zone

  • That's not semoball. They aren't even affliated.

  • I understand that rocketsbro I just thought PHC was considered part of southeast Missouri.

  • Good list ktown 5150. I'd say it's still to early to tell. I would hate to have to pick one now.

  • I like all the picks so far but have to believe Stacy Gipson has to at least get in the discussion.

  • My vote goes to Jimmerson, followed by Jones.
