This guy in Ohio has never been to Southeast Missouri apparently if he gets upset with one "We've got Jesus" chant. I mean, they aren't in the best of taste but everyone around here has been to a good basketball game where the students got into one of these wars. I think this is a good time that we be glad that while all student sections have rules, that nobody takes the chants seriously like this guy does. Gotta appreciate the Bums, Jungle, ND, and all the other schools with spirited fans.
If that offended the guy, he better not ever come to southeast Missouri. At the Sikeston/ND game at ND a couple years ago the ND student chanted "Jesus loves us!!" and as much as I hate to say it the Bums had no comeback. I thought it was a great cheer.

thats southeast missouri in general we still live in an area that does not make its students completely take religion out of school

I like the fact that things are just a little more lax. Schools moving in the other direction are soon going to put a ban on clapping and supporting your team.

This guy clearly doesn't get out much. People that are out in society just looking to stir up trouble, irritate me.

The explanation i've gotten about this is that these two schools in Ohio have the farthest thing from a friendly rivalry. Probably a heat of the moment and frustration thing. Not a fan of chants like that but you can't let it get to you.

Any word on what happened to the coach?

I haven't read the article, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say the coach griping about the chants was the coach of the losing team. The losing team coach tends to focus more on things that don't pertain to the game itself. It's all a distraction method, trying to get people to focus on something other than their team losing.
Again, this is just a guess.
