You are welcome. I don't put much stock in them but they can be fun to talk about.
I agree, Larry. Especially the first one they put out. They has SCC at #10.
Fun to look at the early ones and laugh at how far they missed the mark on some.
Cool seeing several local teams in those polls. Interested to see how things change after this weeks tournaments and other games. Definitely all for fun and have no impact on postseason, but appreciate SEMO getting some respect
surfgurl_09, what going on with Oak Ridge? They should have played SV and SI better then that.
Layton and LeGrand are both ailing.
The deltan - SV was a very frustrating game for OR. Very competitive game through halftime - I believe SV went to the locker room up by only 3. Then OR got dominated in the second half. Similar to both games OR vs Delta. I think first one was within a point end of 3rd, and second one very tight through half. By the numbers, OR seems to have faded badly in second half of three games in a row. Worth noting that David Layton didnít finish the SV game due to injury.
SI game - David didnít play, and SI is really good. I havenít seen another Class 1 team in SEMO that I think will hang with them, even with a key SI player injured.
Im glad itís early season. Hopefully OR will make adjustments, and hit stride before February.
All this being said, we have a group of awesome young men representing our school and community, and we absolutely support them 100%, regardless of their record. A 2-4 start isnít what we had hoped for, but those kids arenít going to mail it in.
Sorry for the duplicate post. I have no idea how I managed to do that.
Is the new pols out yet?
Crusader15, they may a new out, not sure either that? They corrected last weeks when they had Leeton down twice at 7 and 9 spot in class 1. They may post an updated one later in the week?
Updated polls are out. Class 1 Oran.#3
Class 3 Charleston #1 Kennett #7
Class 4 Cape #4 and Cape Notre Dame #8. This pill was released January 3! Got it from

I'm starting to wonder about who votes in these polls. How is Portageville getting votes. the wheels have fell off on there season. And now the samething to Campbell after their loss to Senath in the Bootheel Tournment.
Campbell is nothing like Portageville, 14-4 , Pville has 10 loses! Hayti is playing good ball but does have 7 loses. Bernie is still getting love with there 5 loses. Hayti beat Campbell at Hayti by 4 less there 2nd or 3rd leading scorer then lost to Cville that CAMPBELL beat by 26! Letís not act like a lose to Senath is so bad , Senath has played most teams closes and it was there night. It is hard to beat a good team 3 times. Districts are at CAMPBELL we will see how it all falls out there. Hayti may need to worry about Malden for now they are playing good ball.
5 of our 7 losses came against Dora, South Iron, Bernie, Kennett, New Madrid. the other two against C-ville and every knows when we play each other records don't matter because the kids play their hardest in those games. We don't get to play teams like Delta c-7, North Pem, Naylor, Cooter. Campbell only has beat like 2 teams that are at least 2 games over .500. Campbell Opp Combine Record is 164-163 and they are 14-4. Hayti Combine Opp Record 213-161 Hayti is 13-7. Hayti is also the younger team of the two.
And the officials cost Campbell every one of their losses, right Bfan??
Good to see you back on here, itís been a while. I always get a good laugh from your posts.
This one is going to be tough to correct, but I'm going to do my best. The corrections are in parentheses.
Campbell is nothing like Portageville, 14-4 , Pville has 10 loses(losses*)! Hayti is playing good ball but does have 7 loses (losses*). Bernie is still getting love with there(their*) 5 loses(losses*). Hayti beat Campbell at Hayti by 4 less there 2nd or 3rd leading scorer then lost to Cville that CAMPBELL beat by 26!(I don't know where to begin on that sentence, you may want to try that again) Letís not act like a lose(loss) to Senath is so bad , Senath has played most teams closes(close) and it was there(their) night. It is hard to beat a good team 3 times. Districts are at CAMPBELL(,) we will see how it all falls out there. Hayti may need to worry about Malden for now(,) they are playing good ball.

That was rough. Better luck next post. Have a great day.
Slim u are always fun to here from also! Bernie out played Campbell when they lost to them, I do believe Bernie was playing better ball earlier. Hayti beat us at Hayti not bad calls just maybe a lack there of both sides. Neelyville was a strait out robbery at Neelyville crazy amount of calls in there favor and Senath played well ,I do believe calls in the fourth took it out of our players hands but hats off the Senath. Didnít like the statement that Campbell was compared to Portageville with 10 loses! Hayti 63851 u play Scott County and Armorel , a couple u spoke of were in a tournament, canít help that. NMCC , South Iron we also play and also beat NMCC. Point is Iíve always said Hayti played a brutal schedule and are a good team, show the same respect!
That district is hard to seed after Bernie. Hayti has played a pretty hard schedule and won the Bootheel Conference. I think they are the two. Neelyville has wins over south Pem and Campbell. Campbell probably has the best win with the win over NMCC. I'd probably seed it Bernie, Hayti, Campbell, Neelyville, south Pem, Seanth, Portageville, and then Holcomb.
Iím hurt by the correction Omaha , u must have kid on one of the bad teams!? Lol
In my opinion Campbell shouldn't be getting in the polls. Not like I'm on here demanding Hayti should be getting votes in the polls, Respect is what Campbell should have showed when our girls played the other night. Yelling at our coach. One mom even said our coach should be locked in a cage. Come on Parents.
Who knows how the seeding will shake out in that district??
Iíll tell you what I do find entertaining, though. Itís looking at social media and watching how many fans have blinders on.
Whether it is blaming officials and calling them names, or showing videotape of their perceived errors, that seems now to be par for the course. Heck, there are even parents that use social media to bash the coaches on the teams in which their kids play.
It is also entertaining to know that many of these people who are complaining are actually employed by the school districts and perhaps should know better.
Almost as entertaining as watching the old Jerry Springer show.
Slim what I find entertaining is how much salt you still carry around when it comes to Campbell. Black and Gold wasnít ever your color anyway.
BFAN, I donít even have any kids. Iím just a fan. A fan of good Grammar and spelling.
Slim u(you) are always fun to here(hear) from also! Bernie out played Campbell when they lost to them, (.) I do believe Bernie was playing better ball earlier. You really should work on your spelling and grammar. It will make you sound much more educated and it would make people respect you a little more.
Honestly we all know the polls are for entertainment purposes only. I believe this area could produce state champions every single year, the level of competition is unmatched. Districts will be a battle this year. Every team has a shot at a upset. Bernie is very good with Zoll and Harty, Hayti will be well prepared with their tough schedule, Neelyville has a difference maker with Curtis Fowler, Campbell at home is scary and their Fowler is a scoring machine, South Pem has some very good players, Senath is well coached and play well when motivated, Portageville has experience and can upset anyone, Holcomb is probably still a year away to upset any of the above. Campbell has had some bad breaks this year and have lost a couple they probably shouldnít have. People want to knock them for losing to Senath. Senath is a good team and thatís their rival game, both teams bring it when they play each other. Iím excited to see what happens the rest of the season. Itís always great to have these debates, just means we have a lot of competitive teams this year and thatís great for this area.
Omaha didnít relieve we were in school but Iíll keep that in mind the next time. Guess the question is do u have anything basketball related? Ur probably one of those kids that got picked on in school and have to hide behind a computer and teach grammar on a sports related site. Got anything sports related to bring?
Youíre killing me Omaha
Nice one thunder. This comes from a guy who never played varsity basketball or baseball.
Slim itís obvious you donít know who I am. But Iím a old school guy, Iím curious do you have any of those old TR playbooks left or did you distribute them all out to opposing teams after your departure??
Good one thunder!!
Did you have to pull the splinters out of your rear end after your high school career ended?? Also, are you having to pull them out for your son??
I see I have got under the skin of sir shady Lol! That statement just shows the kind of person you really are and not who you betray to the public. Attacking kids, Oh wait, you have always been known for that, hmmmm guess things never change! Enjoy your day! Still interested in that playbook, Iím sure you have one since your a historian of the sport.
I laughed it off!! And Iíve got broad shoulders and donít back away from anything. I own my mistakes. You have a great day also!
Iíll put a copy on eBay, and let you bid on it.😉
Slim! Thunder! Take it outside, boys. We have sports to discuss in here.
Canít we all just get along like Omaha and I? Lol
BFAN, you got me. I know nothing about sports, I just like reading posts that are spelled correctly. Especially when those post are trying to make other people feel stupid for their opinions. I will stop now, since I clearly hurt your feelings. Have a good day Bigg guy
Omaha , Iím not a guy to make others feel stupid, I just support my team. I donít care about ur post and u donít hurt my feelings at all with ur grammar lessons. Iím more than willing to debate sports with u or we can meet and talk grammar, either way a new poll will be out soon and there will be plenty to talk about then.👍
Campbell donít need to be worrying about Hayti. They need to be concentrating on South Iron. The class 1A team that throttled Hayti by 56 points a month ago. As for Hayti you got Kennett tomorrow. Good luck too both of your teams.
Dirty South- what game would you consider a bigger upset? Hayti over Kennett or Campbell over south iron?
Sounds good BFan.
I will say that Class 2 District 1 has to be one of the deepest districts in the state. In my opinion, there are 4 teams that can win it, and possibly more. Bernie is good, Hayti is athletic as always and can win, Neelyville is solid with the big Fowler kid, and Campbell can beat anyone if Blake Fowler is on. If he's not, they can also lose to anyone seeing as they really only have 1 other player that can get going and have a big night.
We don't play Kennett. Only games we have left is Senath tomorrow. Cairo on Saturday and the Bernie and Risco. We played Kennett in the Bloomfield tournment and lost by 8 but played without our top rebounder and leading scorer. We didn't get them back until after Christmas.
Dirty south , I do understand they both have big games ahead of them ,and hope they do well. CAMPBELL and Hayti are in the same district, so the South Iron and Kennett arenít going to change anything for either one down the road! Both games would be big moving forward if either one pulled off the upset! Hayti still has business with Senath before that.
BFan and Dirty South. We(Hayti) do not play Kennett.
Omaha , I do agree with most of that post. CAMPBELL plays the best ball when Fowler scores 15-20 and the rest of the team gets involved. They have had several games that 4 or 5 players score in double digits and they win big. The nights that he as 30- or more we have lost. When they figure out how to keep playing team ball , they will be hard to beat! That district can be won by 5 or 6 teams.
Hayti I didnít think u did, but thought I missed something.
Bfan, that may be true. But, will the secondary scorers be able to step up against a GOOD team(Bernie, Hayti, Neelyville)? That remains to be seen. Fowler is really good, and makes Campbell good enough to beat anyone(nearly beat Bernie by himself early in the year) but he needs some consistent help.
Omaha,He does need more consistent help to win districts or beyond! I believe the talent is there in several guys, just havenít seen it on a consistent basis. It did show in the Cville game, Fowler around 20, Parker 16, Camargo 12, Biggs 10, and Vines , Morrison and Sibert all around 6. Thatís what we need more often.
