  • Very cool to see Advance, Oran, Charleston, Sikeston and Cape all ranked in the top 6 in their respective classes!

  • Plus Meadow Heights at number 9.

  • I’m curious IP. Did you notice that Saxony was ranked 7th in Class 3? Is that not “cool”?

I find it curious that nobody in Class 1 or 2 is ranked 4th, but 2 teams are ranked 7th in each.

  • Probly just “room temp”

  • Just curious Larry? Not cool? Perhaps perplexing? Just goes to show you never can tell.

Larry doby 14, I am going to go out on limb and say one of those teams ranked 7th should be 4th! Does anyone have the girls rankings!

  • Class 2 is likely a foregone conclusion due to Sacred Heart. Good luck beating them without physically punishing them. They are really good.

  • Jamestown is a team with a lot of big boys in class 1. Despite playing in a region not historically tough, they have some athletes with size and could make a push in the playoffs.

  • Still don't get this poll. After winning the semo christmas tournament small school championship, how does The Ridge not get into the top 10? I would like to see who is voting for this thing!!

-- Posted by El Capitan on Fri, Jan 5, 2018, at 11:59 AM
  • That would be the coaches capitan. some of them participate, and some don't. A grain of salt should be taken with all of these polls.

    -- Posted by SEMO747883 on Fri, Jan 5, 2018, at 12:19 PM
  • just curious Capitan, I don't remember seeing the title SEMO Christmas tournament small school championship. I thought it was the consolation bracket (ninth place)that Oak Ridge won, which means four other small schools ended up higher than Oak Ridge- Oran, Advance, Chaffee and Meadow Heights.

  • Gentlemen I believe that El Capitan is on a fishing trip! He would prefer to see Oak Ridge fail. It's sad to look forward to seeing High School kids fail. Obviously he has forgot the hard work he was asked to put in as a player. Whether you like or dislike a school it's pretty petty to hope that hard working kids fail.

-- Posted by Bearcat Fan on Sat, Jan 6, 2018, at 8:26 AM
  • El Capitan , there's no such thing as a "small school championship" in the tournament! What in the world are you talking about?

    -- Posted by semo7178 on Sat, Jan 6, 2018, at 9:24 AM
  • Oak Ridge would get mopped by half those teams on that ranking. If you're worried about polls your head is in the wrong place anyway
