  • Excellent logic Murph! I like it!

  • Jackson and Sikeston will steam roll Cape this week

What's your boundaries? If you include all of the teams in the southeastern quadrangle of missouri Farmington and Hillsboro would have to be on the last and fairly high up imo!

  • Yeah I kinda went perryville down

Murphdogg,I think your list looks pretty good then I might have advance and Risco on the bubble!

-- Posted by porchswing on Sun, Feb 5, 2017, at 12:01 PM
  • I agree porchswing....

I'm also not sold on Cville at 7...I think they are a hair low. But, it's just semantics at this point.

    -- Posted by Rocket689 on Sun, Feb 5, 2017, at 12:42 PM
  • I also thought about risco and advance.

-- Posted by Murphdogg on Sun, Feb 5, 2017, at 12:52 PM
  • Don't know how you put Charleston at 6 since they have beat a couple of the teams above them. I will admit I haven't seen many games this year but would them Sikeston, Charleston, Caruthersville, Saxony based on what I saw yesterday

    -- Posted by runner50 on Sun, Feb 5, 2017, at 1:43 PM
  • On a neutral court Caruthersville and Saxony could beat Cape, Jackson, and Notre Dame.

So rankings should be based on what COULD happen?

-- Posted by Captain Awesome on Sun, Feb 5, 2017, at 5:22 PM
  • I think you have to put Risco #10 right now. They beat Advance who blasted SCC. Plus they have the longest winning streak in SEMO.

-- Posted by Preacher Man Fan on Sun, Feb 5, 2017, at 7:36 PM
  • Preach!! How come people fail to mention when Advance"blasted" SCC the Braves had 3 starters out...that is relevant when evaluating that particular game....

    -- Posted by indian73 on Sun, Feb 5, 2017, at 8:13 PM
  • That's true Indian. But any coach will tell you it's next man up in those situations.

  • RISCO

-- Posted by yaeger on Mon, Feb 6, 2017, at 7:46 PM
  • True but they lost by 12 to oran. Granted it was early in year. And I agree Charleston may be to low.

even though risco has beaten advance I believe that advance should be #10 Based on the people they have beat.

    1.) Stown

    2.) Jackson

    3.) Charleston

    4.) Cape

    5.) Bluff (weak)

    6.) ND

    7.) Cville

    8-10 I'll let y'all fight it out

    -- Posted by BulldogFan1 on Mon, Feb 6, 2017, at 9:03 PM
  • Yes Jayz need to be 2 or 3, they should win their district i would surmise.

    -- Posted by cirithungol17 on Mon, Feb 6, 2017, at 11:28 PM
  • Oran is a good team murphdogg. They will probably win their district. Plus you can't overlook Risco's winning streak.

  • My Top 10:

    1. Sikeston

    2. Cape Central

    3. Charleston

    4. Poplar Bluff

    5. Notre Dame

    6. Jackson

    7. Caruthersville

    8. Saxony Lutheran

    9. Dexter

    10. Risco

Bubble Teams: Advance, Scott County Central, Hayti, Ellington/Southern Reynolds

One note: If I could've included Farmington, I would've ranked them at #9, then Dexter #10.

  • You are right I guess the only game I have seen Oran play this year was against Saxony who beat them pretty bad.

-- Posted by Murphdogg on Tue, Feb 7, 2017, at 6:33 AM
  • 1 Sikeston

    2 Charleston

    3 Caruthersville

    4 Saxony

    5 Notre Dame

    6 Jackson

    7 Bluff

    8 Cape

    9 Advance

    10 SCC

    -- Posted by uncommon_sense on Tue, Feb 7, 2017, at 10:21 AM
  • Didn't bluff beat caruthersville and Jackson beat charelston and Nd beat Saxony and caoe beat Nd. Uncommon sense that makes no sense.

If you put 2-7 in a tournament... you could draw the winners randomly from a hat and have just as good a chance as if you picked them outright... I mean that. Sikeston's ranking is the only guarantee on this board.. Ugh...

-- Posted by secretagentman on Tue, Feb 7, 2017, at 6:08 PM
  • True

-- Posted by Murphdogg on Tue, Feb 7, 2017, at 6:40 PM
  • Sikeston is hands down the best team in the area.

Score of the Cvill vs NMCC game????

-- Posted by JustLoveTheGame on Tue, Feb 7, 2017, at 9:52 PM
  • 65-62.......Cville!

    -- Posted by indian73 on Tue, Feb 7, 2017, at 10:03 PM
  • Risco was awarded the top seed over SCC by the coaches. I think that validates them being in the Top 10. Plus the Braves have lost 2 out of 3 including tonight's 30 point beat down by Charleston.

-- Posted by Preacher Man Fan on Thu, Feb 9, 2017, at 12:48 AM
  • Murphdogg -Charleston has beat Bluff, Cape, ND twice and Caruthersville. Pretty much solidifies #2 at this point in season. Cape was garbage until January so can't discount first half of season, may end up being top 3 after next couple games vs Sikeston and Charleston, we will see. ND and Saxony are basically even, except when I watch Saxony they look a little more dangerous then ND. Bluff, well their win over C3 Caruthersville seems like their best win, and after their effort vs Sikeston hard to give them much love. Jackson just not that impressed, beat Charleston at Jackson, one game does not warrant then being much higher than maybe 5. Have enjoyed the constant surprises throughout the season!

    -- Posted by uncommon_sense on Thu, Feb 9, 2017, at 7:09 AM
  • And SCC just barely scraped by Oran last night at their own Homecoming even with Oran's leading scorer out and the team battling sickness (according to the article I read on here today)

    -- Posted by 2BAT on Sat, Feb 11, 2017, at 2:12 PM
  • I agree cape started rough but they got alot closer to beating sikeston than charelston did. ND beat Saxony also. Jackson has solid wins against Farmington, Vianey, MICDS, and thayer so I don't know what you are looking at. I think cape will beat Charelston, may be wrong, we shall see.

-- Posted by Murphdogg on Sat, Feb 11, 2017, at 4:18 PM
  • Based on the way they are playing right now I can definitely see Cape at #2!

Chauncey Hughes! Remember that name! Incredible athlete and only a sophomore for Cape Central! He's going be a difference maker down the stretch!
