  • How did Twin Rivers look?

-- Posted by LeBum on Mon, Nov 28, 2016, at 9:34 PM
  • Twin rivers can shoot the open 3 and hit their free throws. Very quick, nice guard play, may struggle rebounding against bigger teams. Campbell played well but missed to many free throws. Needs to get more physical on the boards.

  • Thank you BIGELW. That's some big competition I will have to follow him this year to see how he does. He is definitely under the radar in southeast missouri.

  • Nate Burnett is #10 and is a sophomore can light it up from just about anywhere on the court! EJ Myers is also a sophomore and comes off the bench and is averaging about 4 3's a game through 3 games!

  • Risco 63 Bernie 44 final

-- Posted by jpaawhite on Fri, Dec 2, 2016, at 9:06 PM
  • Risco looked really good all three games, great outside shooting! Didn't think the tournament was seeded very well. Puxico 4 and Neelyville 5 finished 1and 5 combined in the tournament , Campbell seeded 6 finished 2and 1. Relieze it is early just think it would have made for a better tournament. Congrats to Risco, they should do well this season!

  • I agree and realize when they seed tournaments before the season even starts you can't really put alot into it. I knew Bernie had a solid JV last season that would help their varsity be much improved this year but Risco returned 5 starters from a team that beat Bernie last season by 20+ points. Not sure why Bernie got 1 seed and Risco 2. After watching the last two nights I believe Twin Rivers was probably the second best team in the tournament followed by Bernie and Campbell!

  • How did the Twin Rivers kid look in the tourney?

-- Posted by LeBum on Fri, Dec 2, 2016, at 10:55 PM
  • Which kid from Twin Rivers?

-- Posted by Yes sir79 on Fri, Dec 2, 2016, at 11:05 PM
  • Not sure which kids but I was impressed with #10 and #3 from the Royals!

-- Posted by jpaawhite on Fri, Dec 2, 2016, at 11:08 PM
  • Can't remember his name but he scored 30 against Poplar Bluff last year.

-- Posted by LeBum on Fri, Dec 2, 2016, at 11:15 PM
  • Congrats to Risco. Kids played hard and they benefit from not having another sport to play, which I think gives them an advantage early in the year. Good looking group.

As far as seeds go, you can't tell a thing as to what seeds mean early on. Risco actually seeded Campbell behind both Puxico and Neelyville, and Bernie has a tradition of being good. So that is probably why they wound up with the 1 seed. Bloomfield dropping out of the tourney also changed the seeds.
