Brian Rosener is the keeper of the Semoball Cup which is presented to the school with the most successful season. It is based on a formula that takes into account the combined winning percentage of all sports teams plus bonus points for advancement in postseason play for both teams and individuals. The bonus points are divided by the number of teams a school fields. Rosener has been the sports editor for the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo. since December 2001. He was born and raised in St. Louis, where he attended Lindbergh High School and Webster University. He is married to Jennifer, a Poplar Bluff native, has a son Jack and a dog named Satchel who stands in for his @semoballBrian photo.

I'm by no means saying SG should be in the top ten, but what would it take to get votes? Only losses have came to class 3 #8 Park Hills and class 1 #1 Valle. Lost to Park Hills by 3 and Valle by 8 and have turbo clocked nearly everyone else on their schedule. I know, I know, SG has a relatively weak schedule, but would a win over Caruthersville push you to vote for SG? Just want to get a voters perspective on what you're looking for.

I'd say a win over Caruthersville won't help as much as some other ranked Class 3 schools losing and Park Hills Central winning. Lots of unbeaten and 1-loss teams in there.
A lot can happen between now and the end-of-season poll.

This time of year with only a few days left in the regular season, rankings pretty much means nothing. District start's next week and everyone get's a clean slate and a chance to prove themselves. SG and Park Hills should meet in the Finals of district play in what could be game of the year in Semo. Sure wish I could see that game.
