LIVE from Indy!

Will Tyler Hansbrough make his pro debut tonight when the Indiana Pacers host the Washington Wizards?

I'm here at Conseco Fieldhouse for the game. After a nice 6 hour drive (not to mention the time change that has me confused as to what time it really is), we've made it. Didn't have time to talk with Tyler too much when I saw him in the lockerroom, but he's scheduled to dress for the first time.

Hansbrough is the first Poplar Bluff basketball player to play in an NBA game, but he's not the first from the DAR's coverage area (think Puxico). Any ideas?

I'll post again at halftime.

Tyler played a little in the first half.. will update after the game.

Tyler finished his NBA debut with 13 points (3-for-7 from the field) and five rebounds. He was 7-for-10 from the free-throw line and also had an assist.

Read a story about his debut in Sunday's DAR

The Puxico player...can we get an era or decade or something?

Although I probably shouldn't pretend like I'll figure it out...

Brian Rosener's response:
Win Wilfong, St. Louis Hawks 1957-61

Win Wilfong (Puxico) led the Indians to two state championships, somewhere around 1949-50-51; I think they finished 2nd the last trip to the finals. Anyway, Wilfong went on to star at Memphis State, winning the MVP in the NIT tourney. He then played briefly for the St. Louis Hawks, and was a memb er of their NBA championship team in '57!
