District brackets

Seeds have been hammered out for the upcoming MSHSAA district basketball tournaments. Rob Tate has a breakdown on his blog and in today's DAR of area teams.

MSHSAA's website has the district brackets online this year for boys and girls.

Some interesting seeds include Bloomfield getting the top boys seed in the Class 3 District 2 tournament followed by Arcadia Valley, Twin Rivers, Clearwater, Doniphan, Greenville and Woodland. The Wildcats haven't won a district since 1967. Charleston is the top boys seed in Class 3 District 1 followed by New Madrid County Central.

In Class 2, Portageville and Campbell are the top two seeds in District 1 while Advance has the top seed over Bernie and Saxony Lutheran in District 3 at Chaffee.

On the girls side, Naylor won the Class 1 District 1 title since no other schools feature a girls team. The same is true for Delta in District 3 since Scott County Central did not field a team this year.

Wednesday, March 4 * Sectionals for Class 5 at Farmington Civic Center and Class 4 at Mineral Area College

Saturday, March 7 * Quarterfinals for Class 5 at UMSL and Class 4 at Farmington

Tuesday, March 10 * Class 1 sectionals (District 1-2 at Poplar Bluff HS; 3-4 at Park Hills Central HS)

Wednesday, March 11 * Sectionals for Class 2, District 1-2 at TRCC, Poplar Bluff, District 3-4 at Park Hills HS; Class 3, District 1-2 at Poplar Bluff HS: 3-4 at Jefferson College

Saturday, March 14 * Quarterfinals for Class 1 at TRCC, Poplar Bluff), Class 2 (West Plains Civic Center), Class 3 (Farmington Civic Center.
