Peiffer, Lathrop earn top OVC honors

SEMO football finished with another losing record but the Redhawks were winners in the OVC's postseason awards announced Tuesday.

Senior linebacker Blake Peiffer from Jackson was named OVC defensive player of the year and redshirt freshman quarterback Scott Lathrop was named OVC newcomer of the year.

Senior safety Tylor Brock joined Peiffer on the all-conference first team while senior tailback Levi Terrell earned second-team honors. Lathrop was also placed on the OVC all-newcomer squad.
