Roman back in coaching, at Highland CCPosted Monday, November 2, 2009, at 6:00 PM
Zac Roman, SEMO's acting head men's basketball coach last season, is back in coaching.
Roman has been hired as an assistant at Highland (Ill.) Community College, where former SEMO assistant Ronnie Dean took over as head coach earlier this year. Dean was a Highland assistant last season. I'm really happy for Zac, who is a class act and certainly deserved better than the situation he was handed at SEMO last year. By the way, Highland ranks among the nation's premier junior college programs. The team went 31-6 last season and finished seventh at the national tournament. Good to see. I don't think he was ready for what he got thrown into last year, and it's good to see him back in coaching. He seemed like a guy who truly cared and seemed nice. He got thrown to the wolves last year so I'm glad to see he's back coaching.
Hats off to Roman. I'm glad he's getting this opportunity. Now if we could only get Able Tillman to come to SEMO next year.
I'm happy for Dean and Roman..... both had little control over the destruction of our program....
Maybe Dean will send us some talent in the future.....Nutt should reach out to him..
What a jump.... We will go from playing Harris-Stowe to Memphis
What a schedule....
I got to see Harris-Stowe practice - We should win pretty easily...
Also watch St. Louis U practice....We should put them on the schedule....just kidden.....I think they are going to make some noise this year...very strong inside game...team fundamentals are unreal....
Great to here for Roman. Glad to see he hit the ground running.
Due to the nature of Dean's exit from Southeast, I highly doubt he'll be steering any talent to Cape Girardeau.
Dean's issue was with Edgar, not with Semo in general ---

In the meantime, Dean, a native of Charleston, Mo., said he will root for the Redhawks and first-year coach Dickey Nutt.
"I'm a SEMO fan, a Dickey Nutt fan," Dean said. "I wish them the best."
I think that if Dean and Roman believe that the situation is right, then they will or can help us with players like Tillman. That isn't a slam dunk that we will get those guys, just means that they have working knowledge of the OVC, SEMO, and we might have an better shot then what we would normally have. It is still up to Nutt, and our staff to get the guys Coach Nutt thinks will take SEMO to the next level.
I don't think Tillman is much of a get either way.
The Fighting Gary Garner's get a win last night...

Is Will Bogan still at Highland?
I'm shocked the haters aren't out in force yet.
