Central's Young, Chisom in attendance for SEMO football practice

Cape Central football standouts Al Young and Kway'Chon Chisom were sitting at Young's house watching TV on Wednesday when they realized the Southeast Missouri State football team was practicing and decided to stop by Houck Stadium.

Shortly after they arrived coach Tom Matukewicz greeted the pair and as Young and Chisom stood on the sidelines they spoke to a few Redhawks players, including former Central teammate and long snapper Zach Stagner and former Jackson quarterback Dante Vandeven.

Young, who is entering his senior year at Central, received an offer from Southeast when he attended the Redhawks' win over then nationally-ranked Tennessee State last October.

He's since received offers from Missouri State, Southern Illinois and Murray State.

Throughout Southeast's two-hour practice senior receiver Paul McRoberts and senior running back DeMichael Jackson spoke to the Tigers duo. Young said he talks to McRoberts and Jackson on social media about his future.

"I like coming out here to watch them and the coaches, I love the coaches," Young said. "They're kind of buying me in, but I'm still waiting."

Young plans to wait until after his senior season is complete to make a decision about his collegiate future. Chisom, a junior, said the Redhawks coaches began talking to him and expressed interest in him over the summer.
