Southeast linebacker Meredith out for season

Southeast Missouri State outside linebacker Chad Meredith will be out for the remainder of the season and will have surgery to repair his right shoulder labrum.

"That's pretty significant," Southeast coach Tom Matukewicz said following Wednesday's practice. "We'll be lucky to get him back for spring ball type of thing."

The sophomore from Louisville had 16 tackles this season, including two for a loss of 15 yards and a sack.

Junior running back DeMichael Jackson had his hand X-rayed on Monday and remains out with a broken hand.

Matukewicz said he'll likely be in a hard cast for one week and then a soft cast for two more.

Junior receiver Paul McRoberts and sophomore defensive end Selwyn Carrol remain out indefinitely with right foot fractures.

Ouch!!! I'm all for other players stepping up and trust they'll continue to do so but these lengthy injuries to starters are really starting to add up.

arich35, sophomore Lloyd Laufili-Time has moved into Meredith's spot on the depth chart. Laufili-Time started the first two games at outside linebacker this season. Thanks for reading and the comment.
