Jackson QB Dante Vandeven contemplating offer from Southeast

Jackson senior quarterback Dante Vandeven confirmed following the Indians' win on Friday night that he has received a scholarship offer to play football at Southeast Missouri State.

He hasn't committed to play for coach Tom Matukewicz yet, and didn't have a timeframe of when he'll make his decision.

"Me and my family have been thinking about it a lot lately and we'll see sooner or later," Vandeven said. "I'm going to let the season play its part."

Vandeven has had interest from other schools, including Divisin II Central Missouri, but has not received any other scholarship offers.

He said he's been talking a lot with Matukewicz and offensive coordinator Sherard Poteete, and that he's formed a good relationship with both coaches.

"We'll see," Vandeven said. "I'd like to fly with the Redhawks. We'll see what happens."
