Rachel Crader is the editor of semoball.com. She graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in May of 2009 before spending the summer covering the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Highlights from Rachel's days in college include having a class down the hall from Chase Daniel and having NCAA wrestling champion Ben Askren hold the door open for her at Brady Commons, Mizzou's student center. She spent time covering Mizzou basketball, softball and baseball while working for the Columbia Missourian and is excited to return home to Southeast Missouri to cover local sports for semoball.com.

Coaches vs. Cancer Shootout on Saturday

Charleston is hosting the fourth annual Coaches Versus Cancer Shootout this Saturday, which will feature high school girls basketball teams from all over the area.

All proceeds are donated to the St. Francis Foundation Dig for Life campaign, according to Charleston girls basketball coach Josh Thompson. Tickets, which are good for all of the games throughout the day, cost $6.

It sounds like a worthy clause, so if you'd like to see some good girls basketball this weekend, Charleston is the place to go.

The schedule:

10:30 a.m. -- Sikeston vs. Scott County Central

Noon -- Greenville vs. Portageville

1:30 p.m. -- East Prairie vs. Woodland

3:00 p.m. -- Poplar Bluff vs. Carbondale

4:30 p.m. -- Dexter vs. St. Joseph's Academy

6:00 p.m. -- New Madrid vs. Meadow Heights

7:30 p.m. -- Charleston vs. Twin Rivers

I might head over to catch the 4:30 p.m. game Saturday. I really enjoy watching the Dexter basketball team play. I'm interested to see how they will perform against a large private school like St. Joseph's.

Sorry, Dustin, but I don't see it. The Lady Crusaders are playing great, but they won't play within 20 points of Dexter.

Well, all things considering the talent Dexter has and for them be mostly Juniors and Saxony comprised of freshmen 20 points would be considered close in my books.That would be a moral victory for Saxony.

Dexter vs. St. Joseph was an excellent game played between two awesome teams. The players played their hearts out and the coaches were well prepared and professional in their actions. Good luck to Dexter and all our area teams as they chase a state berth and possibly a title or two.

Dustin, not one for the ages but a good game. Very physical. Saxony very scrappy. They will do well in the playoffs I think. Lady Bearcats did what they needed to do. Harris had 22 for Dexter.
