Rob Tate has been with the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo. since August 2008 and is currently the assistant sports editor. Rob was born and raised in Clawson, Mich., just 14 miles north of Detroit and is an avid Tigers, Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and University of Michigan fan. He has also adopted the Rams and Mizzou to his favorites since moving to Missouri. He is a 2008 graduate of Oakland (Mich.) University where he received his bachelor of arts in journalism. Rob and his wife Sara live in Poplar Bluff.

Malden's Lemarr signs with SBU

Malden senior Kyle Lemarr signed on the dotted line Friday to play football at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo. Lemarr will play linebacker for the Bearcats. Look for a story in the Daily American Republic next week.

Good choice... The best D2 school in my opinion

Just curious -- why do you consider SBU the best D2 school? I'm a D2 graduate and love talking shop with others familiar with those schools.

Southwest Baptist competes for a title yearly? Are we talking about a conference title? I went to Harding and we had pretty lopsided success against SBU while I was there.
