Lady Dawg Classic at Van Buren seeded

Coaches met on Wednesday for the Lady Dawg Classic Tournament that opens up the girls basketball season (All games played at Van Buren HS)
Heres a look at the matchups: Monday Nov. 30 (1) Thayer vs. (8) Ellington - 4 p.m. (4) Greenville vs. (5) Twin Rivers - 5:30 p.m. (3) Alton vs. (6) South Iron - 7:30 p.m. (2) Neelyville vs. (7) Van Buren - 8:30 p.m. Thursday Dec. 3 The loser bracket semifinals will be at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. while the winner's bracket semis will be at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Saturday Dec. 5 7th place game - 4 p.m. Consolation Championship - 5:30 p.m. 3rd place - 7 p.m. Championship - 8:30 p.m. There will be a new champion this year as the defending champion Couch Lady Indians will not be in this year's tournament and were replaced by South Iron. Couch beat Thayer for the championship last year in a low scoring game, 39-37. Neelyville (who was 21-7 last year) won third place behind Chelsey Maupin's 19 points and Jessica Uhl's 17. Twin Rivers won the consolation title with a 70-58 win against Alton and Van Buren won 7th place over Ellington.

Who won this tournament and how did Greenville do?
Greenville dropped its first-round game against Twin Rivers but bounced back to win the consolation final over Van Buren, 45-40. Greenville defeated Ellington in the consolation semifinals.
